TGIF

I'm so tired right now I can hardly stand it. Between lack of sleep from insomnia and Sarah still being off, work did me in this week. I feel like all I do at work is run anymore. It's sad that on Monday David is scheduled for over 9 hours of treatment time. that would take the average person around 11 hours when you factor in everything that goes wrong in a day. I'm scheduled for significantly less than that, however, it is the weekend. We have been full for 2 weeks now. Everyone that went home this week will undoubtably be replaced this weekend. We have averaged 7 admits a weekend all month. Therefore, I'm sure my schedule will look like hell on Monday. I feel bad for the PT's that are working overtime all over the place. At least the OT's have some per diem people on Saturday. With 4 PT's short and no weekend coverage, the PT's are packed. We're all tired. Thank God it's Friday.

These boots were made for walking...

Yesterday I went hiking in Sequoia at Redwood Canyon. To get to the trailhead you have to drive down a very narrow dirt road down into the canyon. There are 3 loop trails at the trailhead. There is 2 6-mile trails or a combination trail that is 10 miles. There is also a 2.5 mile dead end trail that takes you deep into the forest. I chose to check out the 10 mile loop and the dead end trail. Because I had a late start, I had to really haul to get through all 15 miles. My left knee is pretty sore today, but I'll survive. The trip was worthwhile. The forest was beautiful. I ran into 2 bears on the trail. Luckily, they left the trail without incidence. One of the bears I scared so badly that he took off running. I also saw a young buck on the trail. It was a great day. Pics are here.

Now I haven't ranted in awhile, so I'm going to take that opportunity right now. I went to Target tonight to buy some toiletries and such. Things are going smoothly...I have my list, find everything easily, and am just checking it off like nobody's business...until I have to buy deodorant. Now for the love of God...can we make just one normal scented deodorant. Somehow between now and last time I bought it, there is an abundance of really skanky scents. Of course all the normal scents are not to be found. I swear I spent 15 minutes just looking for something that was normal. And strong! Oh my god! Not only were the fragrances nauseating, but they were so damn strong. Now I have to transfer people all day from wheelchair to bed and vice versa, at some point, there is going to be an old man or woman's face near my armpit. Number one: it isn't necessary for it to be blatantly obvious that I wear deodorant. Number two: they really don't need to smell 'glacier mist.' I mean honestly...what does ice really smell like? And trust me, their interpretation of it is bad. This here is what I'm talking about. For another thing, if my armpits are sparkling, doesn't that mean it isn't working? If my armpits ever smell dazzling, shimmery, or radiant...it's not because I'm using those scents.

New pics!

Sunday I took a nice long, beautiful hike up Kaiser Peak near Huntington Lake. Pics are here.
