Happy New Year!

Nothing too exciting happening this weekend. Alan is in Fresno and has had a cold. I haven't got it yet, but my back has been pretty pissy all week and hit it's most painful in 3 weeks last night and this morning. Tonight Alan and I are joining friends at Colleen's house tonight to ring in the New Year. Hope everyone has a safe and happy one!

Merry belated-Christmas

Sorry for the MIA, but I have been so busy that my head is spinning. I am currently crashing even though my house is a mess and I need to do laundry. Here's what I've been up to:

Wednesday- Aimee came over and wrapped the presents from my parents. We drank wine, ate pizza, and talked until after my bedtime.

Thursday- After work I went and got my allergy shot before having 'Xmas Eve' dinner and Will and Carrie's. We were out late again.

Friday- Went to work and we were short staffed. People had called in sick and had to go home early. After work, Alan and I ran up to the north side for my MRI then to Jeanine's to get table, chairs, and tablecloths for Xmas. After running home to drop that off we went to dinner. We crashed early.

Saturday- Got up early-ish, clean house, grocery shop, go to Lucas' birthday party, go to dinner for Alan's brother's bday, go to movie with the group.

Sunday- Up at 6 and at work before 7. Work until 9:30, shop for flowers, cook til 2. Took a nap, opened presents from the family, call the family, run to Jack-n-the-Box before meeting up with the Santa Run (go with Santa to hand out gifts to kids). After that we drove through Xmas tree lane until 11:30.

Monday- Get up at 8 and finish cooking. Lynda and Eric arrive at noon, everyone else about 3:30. Entertain and feed self and others til after 10.

Today- Up at 5:45. To exhausted to care that 1/2 of our staff isn't at work today. Doze during physical therapy after work. I need to get up.....

Is this really a good idea?

My PT

Monday was my first physical therapy appointment. My PT seems like she knows what she is talking about. She thinks my problem is more a facet than a disk. That is a good thing because it is easier to fix. My first treatment was some stretching, hotpacks, and massage. I only go once a week. Next week we are going to do a trial of traction.

Lazy day

Last night Bryan and I went to go see The U.S. vs John Lennon last night at the Tower Theatre. It was really informative and a great documentary. I knew some about John Lennon's life, but didn't know how much the government was targetting him. Sounds familiar to the current administration.

Today I feel stuffy and headachey like I might be fighting off a cold. Just going to lay low at home today. Might go do something tonight. Anyone up for anything tonight?

Anniversary weekend

So it hasn't been quite a year, but I refuse to share anniversary with Xmas. I came down to LA for a long weekend and anniversary festivities. Friday night Colleen and Sarah were here on there way to the San Diego area (La Hoya to be exact). We had an yummy dinner at our Indian restaurant, then pretty much went to bed

Saturday morning was yard saling and breakfast with the girls. They left for La Hoya and Alan and I went for a hike in a state park nearby. It was interesting hiking in 'wilderness' in the middle of a city. I'm slowly adjusting to reaching a peak of somewhere and seeing skyscrapers rather than waterfalls and mountains. Still disappointing, but at least I'm in some kind of nature. Besides, we keep finding places where we can go spend the day without fighting traffic and rude people. My back has been paining me since Wednesday. It had been doing pretty good the last couple weeks. The hike irritated it, so Saturday night when Alan had his show and we stayed for the Jam, that was too much sitting. Saturday night included muscle relaxants and TENS.

Sunday morning was better. We did our normal Sunday morning ritual of wake up before 8, but fall back to sleep until 11. At 11 we thought we had better get up and see what time to Lion King was. We had bought tickets weeks ago to celebrate our anniversary. We putz around and at 11:30 I sat down to print the tickets off email. Had some difficulties. When I finally got Acrobat to read them, I saw the show was at 1. We had anticipated a show no earlier than 2. So a mad rush to shower, eat breakfast ensured. I managed to get ready in 30 minutes (record time). We were parked at seated by 12:45. Yay us! It was a fabulous show. I recommend it to everyone. The Pantages theatre is beautiful. We plan to see Wicked in February or March. After the show we were starved so we walked to the Old Spaghetti Factory. We had appetizers and drinks at the bar while we waited. Good food. By the end of dinner we were done for the night, but had to do some quick Target and Best Buy runs. The remainder of the night was watching TV and dozing drunk on food.

I have today off work and will be driving home after I meet Alan for lunch. Great weekend!
