Weekend update

This weekend Alan came to visit. He didn't arrive until after midnight Friday night, so I was already asleep. On Saturday we got up early because he and I volunteered for the 'Car Fit' program for my work. The idea was to invite seniors in the community to come to get fitted in their cars to help them become safer or stay safer longer on the road. The even was held at my boss's church. However, the church was also having it's annual pet blessing. Our favorite moment of the morning was one of the little old men that came to get his animal blessed ran over one of our orange cones. Instead of driving between them, the ran over one under his front driver's side tire. He had to stop, back up, and drive around it because he hit it dead on and got it wedged under his wheel. Poor guy. Wished he had come to the car fit program. We had OK success. We had 1/2 of our appointments full, so a total of 14 or 15 drivers that day.

After 'Car Fit,' we took a much needed nap, then went over to his mom's house to drop of London presents and check out the new Mac his mom bought. Then off to dinner at I Love Sushi. Mmmmmmmmm it was good. There was 6 of us and we ate a lot of food. Everyone was all about Japanese food Saturday night. After sushi was Trivial Pursuit, wine, and beer at my house. The girl's team (plus 1/2 a game of Bryan) won. It was a fun time. I don't get to hang out with the Fresno crew much since I'm in LA all the time.

Sunday Alan and I decided to take a walk. We got to Shields and Vanness and decided to walk to Fig Garden for lunch and walk back (roughly 8 1/2 miles). We ate lunch at Applebee's before heading back. My back held up pretty good until got home. I'm having some spasms or something in my left back that is causing shooting pain down my left quadricep. I'll get over it, but it's still rather annoying. I have an appointment to have it checked out end of November.

Alan is sleeping now after our long walk. Hopefully we'll make it to the dog park before he leaves today. Good weekend.

Sorry about your back. I KNOW how you feel! Makes walking a pain in the ass ... literally, haha. And speaking of you being in LA so much, are there long term living arrangements in sight or are you happy with the long distance thing?
