My first week in Palo Alto

So we moved in on Sunday and started unpacking and realized we needed some stuff to make life a little bit more homey. So while Jess took her friend to the San Jose airport, Kristina and I ventured to Target. Apparently Target and Wal-Mart are closed on Easter. Frustrated because it didn't feel like Easter to us, we went to Rite Aid and Sears to get a few things. After a trip to Subway for dinner, we returned home and tried to make due. We worked on the internet with no success and decided that Monday after we were done with the intern we would go to Target and get a new router and create our own wireless network. After fighting with the router for 2 days, we finally had internet...which we only had a few hours. I think I finally have fixed it after working on it all week. We've had wireless for 24 hours now without problems. Keep your fingers crossed. I think it was Wednesday morning when we blew a fuse and had to travel to 4 stores after work to find a stupid fuse they don't even make anymore. So needless to say, it's been a long week.

The weekend has been great though. Friday night the girls and I found a Thai restaurant that was suggested by our supervisor. It was mighty tasty. We pigged out and split a bottle of wine before heading to Cold Stone for some dessert. We came home and all read a bit before passing out from exhaustion. It was kind of rainy and cool on Saturday so we stayed home and worked on our homework a bit. We also jammed to some songs from our childhoods and tried to find a good song for Kristina and Corey's first dance at their wedding this summer. No success. We worked on some more homework before heading to the Alfred Hitchcock movies at the Stanford Theatre. We watched a double feature of Psycho and The Birds for $7. It's a great old theatre that features one person's movies for about 2 months. Starting next week is all Bette Davis movies. I know nothing about most of the movies showing, but we'll probably check out at least one weekend's showings. We walked around downtown Palo Alto for a little while last night too. We're just now getting up and around, so I'm not sure what we're doing today. Regardless, it's going to be pretty stress free.
