Lucky you! 2 posts in one day!

So school's back in session. I've read non stop since Thursday morning. I'm trying to get a jump start to make life less stressful once student teaching starts on Monday. I should be reading some more, but the WebCT program that all my online classes are on (90% of my classes that is) is down so I can't get some of the articles and study guides. They update it every weekend. I guess they figure normal students are out on the town. Not O&M'ers. All of us lead pathetic lives. In other randomness, I'm scrambling for some student loans. Come Feb. 1 the only money I'll have left is moving money. Sending my application out Monday and crossing my fingers it goes through in time. Probably not but I'm hoping. Alan is out doing improv tonight. I went out last night so tonight I'm inside reading. It's raining sporadically tonight. There was a short downpour a little bit ago, but now I hear nothing again. The 'Storm Team Coverage' on the news cracks me up. Flipping wusses. In the canyon areas, yes, mudslides are a danger. I can see that. But this is no where like being in a tornado or hurricane. The news last night said that winds were 67 mph gusts and that 74 mph is hurricane force. That may be true, but this is no hurricane. We had gusts higher than that during the Santa Ana's and no one mentioned that. They interviewed a couple people last night that said it feels like a tornado. No it's not!! There's no hail, no shingles blowing in the streets. For heaven sakes we don't even have any lightening!!! It's just a steady rain with some wind gusts. The real problem is that nothing drains here. The drainage systems are insufficient so the streets flood. We got 2 1/2 inches of rain yesterday in like a 12 hour period. Come on people! Get some balls! I'm actually looking forward to being with people that know what real weather is. Enough of my rants. Back to reading about blind kids.
